Fees

A quotation for Mr Allan’s fee will be provided. Please note that this fee is payable prior to the surgery. This fee also includes any post-operative reviews.

There is no rebate from Medicare for items of a “dental” nature. These are items numbers taken from the ADA Schedule. However, if you have Extras Cover with a Private Health Fund you may receive a rebate.

A Medicare rebate may be applicable for items of a “medical” nature. These are items numbers taken from the MBS Schedule.

If you have Private Hospital Cover then a further rebate may be applicable, but only when the procedure is performed in a hospital. For details of the rebate and your out of pocket expenses you will need to contact the Fund yourself and quote the item numbers as listed on the quotation. In exceptional circumstances it is possible for fees to vary if unexpected treatment becomes necessary.

For patients with Private Hospital Cover, please confirm with your Fund that you are covered as a day patient at the hospital you have booked into, and whether there are any gaps or co-payments.

For patients booked for day surgery, in the unlikely event that you are admitted overnight, please check if this is also covered, and whether there are any further out of pocket expenses.

For patients with no Private Hospital Cover you will be given an estimate of the hospital’s fees. These are payable at the time of admission to the hospital.

An estimate of the anaesthetist’s fee will be provided, however an exact quote can be obtained by contacting their rooms directly or via the internet. Their contact details and information sheets will be provided to you. Medicare and Private Health Cover rebates are applicable, however there will also be out of pocket expenses.

Please allow for additional costs for post-operative analgesics, antibiotics or other medications. These prescriptions are payable on the day of the surgery, either to the on-site pharmacy or your own local pharmacy. Additional fees might include pathology and radiology if necessary, which would be billed to you by that service.
